Yapılış Tarihi | 07 August 2024, Wednesday

Teknofest

The Department of Sociology of Religion examines the mutual interaction between religion and society, that is, the effects of religion on society and the effects of society on religion and religious life, from an objective perspective, and studies the formation and effects of social behavior. It tries to determine the place and importance of religion in social interaction processes, social institutions, social groups, and social processes. Sociology of Religion serves as a bridge connecting human sciences with religious sciences. In other words, sociology of religion, with its dual aspect based on the study of society on one hand and the study of religion on the other, serves as an important bridge between social sciences and theological sciences.

In the Department, "Sociology of Religion" is a compulsory course. For students who want to increase their knowledge in this field, elective courses such as "Turkish Modernization and Religion", "Perceptions of Religiosity in Turkey", "Sociology of Religious Groups", and "Sociology of Institutions" are also offered.
